It is very rare that our tattoos require touch-ups, however, sometimes the ink may come out during the healing process. In these types of situations, we provide touch-up services; however, they are not always free. To qualify for a free touch-up, you must have purchased and used our aftercare products and follow our aftercare instructions correctly and contact us within 2 months of the date of your appointment. We will then ask you to please come to the studio or send in a few clear, well-lit photos and/or videos of the areas to be touch-up and we will assess whether a touch-up is required. Under no circumstances will we touch-up, darken, or add to a tattoo for free if we decide that a touch-up is not necessary.
In order to cancel or reschedule an appointment you must call or email the shop/artist and ensure at least 48 hours notice before your scheduled appointment time. Cancellations and rescheduling of appointments made inside of the 48 hour notification period will result in the loss of your deposit. Tattoo Aftercare
WHAT TO EXPECT AND GENERAL GUIDELINES AFTER LEAVING THE STUDIO FOR YOUR TATTOO.
For smaller tattoos leave bandages/wraps on over-night and remove in shower the next morning. For bigger tattoos remove bandages/wraps 3-5 hours after the session. When removing wraps make sure to wash the area well with unscented anti-bacterial soap under lukewarm or cold water, then air-dry or pat dry with a clean paper towel.
Repeat washing and air-drying for the entirety of day two, you’re going to repeat the washing process for the next two weeks. Its important to wear clean and soft clothing at this stage as your tattoo is still very new and unwrapped. Avoid strenuous activities especially if the tattoo is in a folded area (you can consult with your artist if you have any questions).
You can start applying a thin layer of unscented lotion (sold in store) after your washing routine (apply it carefully and sparingly). Avoid Vaseline, Lanolin, Polysporin or petroleum-based products. Continue lotion process until the tattoo is fully healed, applying lotion to your tattoo after healing also keeps it looking vibrant.
Onto day 4 you might experience some light scabbing, this is completely normal and to be expected. It is very important that you do not scratch, pick, or rub your tattoo in any way to avoid ink loss and scarring. Instead, let it fall off naturally and avoid exfoliation.
The flakes/scabs should be completely gone and your tattoo is now healed. You must still be cautious with your tattoo and careful when touching or scratching. Sun is the number one cause of tattoo fading, always use sunblock (sold in store) over your tattoo when in direct exposure.
If at any point during the healing process you experience a reaction to the tattoo after-care product recommended by your artist, discontinue use and consult your tattoo artist immediately.

PIERCING Aftercare
You’ve just received a body piercing by our skilled and knowledgeable professional piercer who cleaned and disinfected the area pierced, and who used sterile instruments, jewelry and a single use needle.
Now it is up to you to take proper care of your piercing during the crucial healing period. How your piercing heals is up to you and your body.
You take showers instead of baths and make sure that your piercing is cleaned last to ensure the removal of any residue from soap or other products.
Swelling will normally occur during the first 3-7 days. During this time, it is important to drink plenty of cold liquids. Sucking on ice cubes can also help to reduce swelling. We recommend that you use an antiseptic mouth wash. It is ideal that the piercing be cleaned after eating, smoking, or drinking anything other than water. Stay away from dairy products and beer for 4 weeks. Avoid kissing and oral sex which can spread bacteria.
- We recommend using Soapopular Anti-Bacterial Cleanser, which can be purchased here at Forbidden Ink Studio, to properly care for these types of piercings. Before cleansing the piercing, be sure to thoroughly wash your hands with soap. For most effective cleansing, apply the cleanser to a cotton swab and softly work it around both sides of the piercing. Afterwards, rinse the piercing thoroughly to ensure all of the Soapopular, crust, and discharge has been removed. Apply Dr. Piercing, 1-2 times daily by breaking the tip and letting the medical solution drip to the other side and apply gently to both sides of the piercing.
THINGS TO AVOID - Alcohol, as it will dry out your piercing
- Swimming in chlorinated water
- Hydrogen Peroxide
- Oil-based ointments, such as Vaseline, Polysporin, Tea Tree Oil, hand/body moisturizer
- Frequent contact with unwashed hands
